One of the more popular side characters of Netflix's Avatar: The Last Airbender was Suki, leading many to wonder if she will appear again in the show's future. Suki appeared in The Last Airbender episode 2 as the leader of the Kyoshi Warriors, an all-female band of soldiers who aid Aang, Sokka, and Katara in their journey. Dedicated to The Last Airbender's Avatar Kyoshi, Suki and her followers are mostly confined to Kyoshi Island, though they remain some of the stronger non-bending fighters in the entire franchise.

Aside from the likes of King Bumi and Princess Yue, Suki stood out as one of the more popular side characters of Netflix's live-action adaptation. If not for her capability as a warrior or her compelling arc of wishing to see the world beyond the shores of Kyoshi Island, Suki's impact on Sokka also played a huge role before Avatar: The Last Airbender season 1's ending. Given her importance to not only the show's story but its characters as well, many have been left wondering if Suki will appear in Netflix's The Last Airbender season 2 and beyond.

Suki Appears Again In Avatar: The Last Airbender Book 2

Suki's next appearance may come sooner than first thought.

Concerning when Suki appears again in Netflix's The Last Airbender, it is worth exploring the original show to discern her next role. The original show depicted Suki's story on Kyoshi Island in The Last Airbender episode 4. Suki was then absent from the remainder of Book One: Water, just as was the case in Netflix's adaptation. With that in mind, the next time Suki appeared in the original Avatar: The Last Airbender was in Book Two: Earth, episode 12, "The Serpent's Pass."

Suki appears for one episode, with her and the other Kyoshi Warriors having left their island to help refugees fleeing the war in the mainland Earth Kingdom. Suki accompanies Team Avatar on their journey across the titular Serpent's Pass before returning to her other warriors. Suki appears once more in The Last Airbender Book Two, episode 16, "Appa's Lost Days" in a brief cameo role.

Suki Has An Extended Role In Avatar: The Last Airbender Book 3

Suki's character grows even more in importance by the time of Book Three: Fire.

With Book One: Water and Book Two: Earth of the original The Last Airbender show only showcasing three Suki appearances across 40 episodes, Book Three: Fire gives her a much bigger role. While the first half of Book Three does not feature Suki, she appears once more in Book Three, episode 14, "The Boiling Rock." Suki then joins Team Avatar permanently, appearing in every episode from then until the end of the series seven episodes later. Suki is found in a Fire Nation prison, with Sokka traveling to break her out.

After this, Suki's role is much more extensive than in Books One and Two. While her character arc is somewhat fulfilled by earlier episodes, her extended appearances come due to her part in Team Avatar. She is vital to helping Aang complete his goal of facing the Fire Lord, playing an important role in the last battle against the Fire Nation.

Will Suki Be In Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2?

Suki's live-action exploration is likely to continue beyond Netflix's first season.

The two appearances Suki makes in Book Two of the original show and her extended role in Book Three all point to the question of whether Maria Zhang's live-action iteration will have a role in Netflix's Avatar: The Last Airbender season 2. Given that Suki's one-episode arc from the original show's first season was included in The Last Airbender season 1 on Netflix, it is highly likely her appearances in "The Serpent's Pass" and "Appa's Lost Days" respectively are included in Netflix's continuation.

While several elements of Book Two of The Last Airbender will need to be reduced for Netflix's live-action as was the case with Book One, these episodes hold integral character elements concerning Aang, Appa, and Sokka. As such, Maria Zhang is likely to make an appearance. Furthermore, Netflix's The Last Airbender season 1 was not afraid to make changes to the original story where necessary.

This could mean that Suki's role is made more extensive in these episodes in comparison to the original show. With "Appa's Lost Days" specifically, the longer runtime of Netflix's The Last Airbender could give Suki and the Kyoshi Warriors a much bigger role in the live-action adaptation of that story. In the original, Suki's appearance in this episode was reduced to a cameo meaning a larger role could be added. All of this points to Suki's further inclusion in Netflix's Avatar: The Last Airbender season 2, should the streaming giant renew the series for a continuation.
